Privacy Policy

Last updated · April 20, 2026

PrivyDock is built so the private stuff stays private — on your Mac, not on our servers. Here's exactly what we handle and why.

What stays on your Mac

PrivyDock runs entirely on your computer. The list of apps you mark as private, along with every action you take (hide, launch, restore), is stored locally in your own user directory. None of that information is sent to PrivyDock.

What we receive when you contact us

If you join the early list or email support, we receive the email address you send and the contents of your message. We use it to reply, and — only if you opt in — to email you about major PrivyDock updates. You can ask us to delete your email at any time by replying to any message from us.

License checks (after you subscribe)

Once we launch paid plans, PrivyDock will check your license once every 24 hours to confirm it is still active. That check sends us your license key and a device identifier — nothing about your apps, files, or activity. If you are offline, PrivyDock keeps working on the last known-good state for up to seven days.

Update checks

PrivyDock checks for new versions from privydock.com. Those checks send only your current app version and your macOS version so we know whether to offer an update.

What we do not do

  • We don't sell or share personal information.
  • We don't send the names of your private apps to our servers.
  • We don't load trackers, pixels, or third-party analytics in the Mac app.

Payment processing

When you subscribe, payment is handled by Paddle, our payment provider, who acts as the merchant of record. Paddle receives your billing information directly — PrivyDock never sees your card details. Paddle's own privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

Getting in touch
